The NumbTech Story

He wasn't trying to start a brand. He was trying to fix his chair.

Brandon Allton owns Dying Breed Tattoo. Like most artists, he was skeptical of numbing cream. Most of what was on the market felt like a gimmick, or worse, got in the way of the work. So he did what artists do: he tested everything he could get his hands on, took what worked, threw out what didn't, and kept refining until he had something worth trusting.

It didn't happen overnight. It happened one formula, one session, one client at a time, until what he was using stopped being an experiment and started being the reason clients kept coming back.

I wasn't trying to build a company. I was trying to make my chair better. The company happened because it worked.

The numbers told the real story. Clients who used to come in once a year, because that's all the pain they could stomach, started coming back three, four, five times a year. Pieces they'd always wanted but never got, because they didn't want to sit through the pain, finally happened. More sessions. More coverage. More return clients. That's not a guess. That's what Brandon watched happen in his own shop, session after session.

Most shops were against the numbing wave. Brandon was too, at first. But once he saw what it actually did, for his clients, for his chair time, for his business, he realized it was never about whether artists liked the idea. It was about what clients needed. And with tattooing more popular than it's ever been, numbing isn't a gimmick anymore. It's becoming a staple, the same way gloves and stencils are. NumbTech exists so every shop can get there without spending years testing formulas the way Brandon did.

The Shift

Everybody hates pain. Artists who get out of their own way win the client. Earning your stripes by feeling it is the past. This is the future.

Why It’s Different

Built to disappear into the work, not get in the way of it.

A numbing cream is only as good as what it doesn’t ruin. Here’s what shops and artists notice first.

Three NumbTech maximum strength numbing cream tubes

Comfort-Focused Formula

Designed to provide effective relief while being gentle on the skin, built for sessions that run long.

Smooth, Non-Greasy Application

Glides on easily and absorbs without leaving a sticky or oily residue that slows down the work.

Skin Comfort Blend

A carefully selected blend of ingredients that helps keep skin feeling comfortable through the whole session.

Doesn’t rubberize the skin. Maintains skin consistency all the way through the piece.

What we consistently hear from artists: years of feedback, hundreds of clients, the same story every time.

Brandon wanted a way to make his clients more comfortable, sit still, and become returning customers. That's the whole reason NumbTech exists. Everything else was just refining the formula until it did that job right.

Marcus was a client before he was a co-founder. Once he saw what the formula did, for himself and for Brandon's business, he knew every artist needed this in their arsenal and every shop owner would want it. He's built and scaled multiple companies. This one, he saw coming from the chair.
